Bellwether Film Series Line-up

July 3 - Julia Christensen's "séance" consists of two short films about the cosmos.

Penny Lane's short documentary, The Voyagers (2010) is a lyrical look at the space probes Voyager 1 and 2, launched by NASA in 1977 to explore the outer reaches of our solar system.

Jim Finn's Interkosmos (2006) examines the conflict of communist ideology and capitalism in a satire about an East German space mission.

July 10 - Kevin Beasley's mix of shorts and clips ranging from scenes of old Hollywood to films by contemporary artists.

Among his selections are a film by Stephen Prina, several by Michel Auder and clips from 1960s European classics.

July 17 - Lenka Clayton's choice of documentaries and artist films.

Among her selections are two works from the Untied Kindgom, Girl Chewing Gum (1976) by Jim Smith and 2 into 1, a video by Gillian Wearing.

July 24 - Clips arranged by Jerry Birchfield followed by the Buster Keaton film, Sherlock, Jr.

July 31 - Teenage, a feature documentary about the birth of youth culture, chosen by Jacob Ciocci. 

Teenage will feature an interview with the director, Matt Wolf, about this insightful and energetic film on the evolution of the teenager.
